Inclusive Arts

1st January 2009 – 31st December 2010

Since 2004 we have organised a series of events to support the major learning campaigns using local radio, film and practical workshops to stimulate debate and activity. We have developed a bank of good practice examples in creative learning and teaching projects across the country and regularly hold events where we share and disseminate this information.   At the same time conferences and awareness raising sessions have proved useful for partners needing to look at how they include culture in their local community learning strategies and plans.

Older Learners and the Arts

More recently the project has been working on the development of a project focusing on cultural entitlement for older adults and received some pathfinder money from the Scottish Government to help develop this.  This has led to the development of an innovative and exciting new project that has just been recognised for its high quality and artistic ambition.  The project has recently taken on an international angle and will be working with 6 European countries to develop the visibility of older people in society.

Stimulating Creativity

Our project work supports and develops the partnership’s practice in  creativity, using the arts as a vehicle for engaging with adults, children and families for those who think that the arts are not for them.

Provider Practice

A key element of this project is to support providers to try out new ideas in a safe but challenging environment-we have recently held a series of training days and plan to run more over the next few months.
